About US
The love for Peruvian dishes in the United States did not happen overnight. A few decades ago, Latin food already had a special place, with tacos, burritos and arepas leading the way. But the unique touch of Peruvian gastronomy began to stand out little by little.

Our history
Marcelina Gonzales Orellana was born on June 2, 1941. As the daughter of entrepreneurs, she was raised with a strong set of values and principles. Her father affectionately referred to her as Chelita from birth, a nickname that would eventually inspire the name of the esteemed Peruvian restaurant, The Peruvian Cuisine Mama Chela. As a devoted mother of five, Marcelina prioritized using only the finest natural Peruvian products to prepare meals for her children. She inherited her mother's exceptional seasoning skills, delighting the palates of her family and friends with her culinary creations. Years later, one of Marcelina's children decided to establish the MAMA CHELA restaurant, thereby cementing the family's legacy in Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant takes great pride in serving authentic, expertly prepared dishes to discerning clientele, using only genuine Peruvian products and cooking with love. It is our pleasure to welcome guests to experience the rich flavors of authentic Peruvian cuisine.
